Top 5 Things to do in Toronto this Summer

So my friend and fellow instagrammer Mark Asuncion (@deathbefore.decaf) let me know that he'd be travelling to Toronto soon so i figured i'd make a list of my Top 5 things to do in the city this summer. Now this list could probably be 10-20 points long but if you're only here for a weekend then you have to prioritize. The list is in no particular order, all of these things are equally important to do while you're in the 6ix.

1. Catch a concert at the Molson Amphitheatre

Hand down my favourite venue in the city, this outdoor theatre hosts some excellent talent (Florence and the Machine, Mumford & Sons, Gwen Stefani and Dave Matthews this summer) and gives you an excellent view of the city. It's located right on the water and is a perfect way to experience a summer night in Toronto.

2. Check out Toronto's Festival of Beer

This excellent event happens July 22nd-24th and features a ton of different beers with some excellent music provided by House of Pain on Friday and Big Sugar on Saturday. Located on the Exhibition grounds this event is sure to sell out so make sure you get your tickets soon!

3. Kensington Market

If you like food, shopping and graffiti then Kensington Market is the spot for you. With a ton of different little restaurants serving everything you can think of Kensington Market is the place to go on a Saturday afternoon. It's a great place to pick up some vintage clothing and snap some great shots of the city.

4. Catch a game at the Skydome... errrr Rogers Centre (with the dome open)

If you come to Toronto you have to check out the 2015 AL East Champion Toronto Blue Jays. There's no better way to spend your afternoon than sipping overpriced beers and eating equally expensive food. But seriously, all costs aside it is definitely worth a visit if you've never been.

5. Eat all the food

Toronto has an excellent culinary scene, there are constantly new bars and restaurants opening up and there are so many varieties to choose from. Here are a couple of my favourites:

Grand ElectricThis Mexican restaurant in Parkdale makes some of the best tacos in the entire city. They have an excellent patio in the back for a summer lunch.

Pizzeria LibrettoProbably the best pizza in the city. With multiple locations you'll have to make a stop at this Toronto staple.

The Burger's Priest: Built off the same fresh never frozen principle of In N Out in California, this is Toronto's best burger in my opinion. With multiple crazy options like "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" (check out the secret menu), you won't leave hungry.
