Lincoln Unveils the Aviator

Today the Lincoln Aviator takes it's inaugural flight at the New York Autoshow. Yesterday morning, in the meat packing district in New York City, Lincoln introduced the Aviator to a select few, today it's released to the world. The three row, rear wheel drive SUV is Lincoln's first vehicle to feature a plug-in hybrid option. Owner's of the beautiful new model will be able to use their phone as the key and will have the ability to start, unlock and open the truck all via the app. 

It's beautiful interior takes cues from it's larger brother, the Navigator, and looks absolutely striking. The minimalistic design aims to reduce clutter and offer the driver a soothing sanctuary to make that commute to the office that much more enjoyable. 

A twin-turbo engine can be paired with the new plug-in hybrid technology to provide Lincoln's smoothest, quietest and most powerful drive to date. It's a vehicle that i'm truly looking forward to driving as I believe it's the perfect size for those of us that extra space for dogs or kids but don't want to sacrifice power and style. Hopefully we'll see this SUV on the road soon!

One of the Best Shows I've Seen

Earlier this week Cirque Du Soleil held the official premiere for their new show in Toronto, Volta. Now i'm going to be completely honest this was the first Cirque show that i've ever gone to see and I don't think i've ever said the word "wow" more in my life. The acrobats, BMX riders and everything in between was absolutely spectacular. 

The production tells a spellbinding story about the freedom to choose and the thrill of blazing
your own trail. It is a story of transformation and is about being true to oneself, fulfilling one’s
true potential, and the power of the group to make that possible. Inspired in part by the
adventurous spirit that fuels the culture of action sports, the show weaves acrobatics into a
visually striking world driven by a stirring melodic score. I would highly recommend Volta and encourage you guys to check it out. You can grab your own tickets here starting at $50. Volta runs from now until November 26th so make sure you go check it out sooner rather than later!

Nordstrom's Newest Location

On Saturday I got to check out the newest Nordstrom location in CF Sherway Gardens. Nordstrom has taken over the old Sporting Life space and have added their own restaurant called Bazille. Though not all their stock had arrived when I was there I did see pieces from some of my favourite Canadian brands like Wings + Horns and Reigning Champ. They also carried Billy Reid, John Varvatos, Nike, Adidas, Zanerobe and Paige among others. Check out some pics from the Sherway location below.

Cavalia's Odysseo

On July 19th we had the pleasure of attending the performance of Odysseo as guests of the folks from Cavalia. It was truly one of the best live performances I've ever seen. It's the world's largest touring production and it fuses the equestrian arts, acrobatics and some impressive theatrical technology. The show is two hours and thirty minutes long with an intermission in between and you'll be wishing that it was at least double that length by the end. I would highly recommend checking the show out while the big top is here in Toronto, you definitely won't regret it.

The show combines 65 horses of all breeds and 48 artists in a spectacular acrobatic spectacle. They've performed over 1300 shows and will be in Mississauga until August 13th. For tickets and more information click here.

Chatters #StyleHappy Van

Last week I was invited to get my hurr did at the Chatters #StyleHappy Van. They've been travelling all across Canada helping people style their hair. Their most recent stop was Square One in Mississauga where I had the chance to catch up with them. 

When I wake up in the morning I have a quick shower, brush my teeth then do my hair. My hair routine isn't all that fancy, I use a molding clay from Tigi Bedhead that has been my go to for years. When I walked up to the van I didn't really know what I wanted so I asked Jessica to do whatever she'd like. So she pulled out a round brush (i've never used one before) and proceeded to blow dry and brush my hair. I was skeptical at first but really liked the extra volume that the brush and blowdryer gave me.

2017 Joe Carter Classic

Last week I had the privilege of attending the VIP reception for the Joe Carter Classic. The Joe Carter Classic is a Celebrity golf tournament that brings together former and current pro athletes as well as notable people to golf for a great cause. Some of this years notable attendees were Dan Marino, Dionn Phaneuf, Julius Erving and many more. The idea is you buy a foursome and one of the three members  of your foursome is a celebrity. How cool would it be to spend an afternoon shooting the shit with Dan Marino!? Unfortunately I didn't get to golf with Dan (maybe next time) but I still had a blast meeting everyone at the reception.

Proceeds from the event go towards supporting the education and development of Canadian youth through the Joe Carter Scholarship Fund and the Joe Carter Family Support Fund.

Since 2010, the Joe Carter Classic has raised and pledged $2,500,000 to benefit the Children’s Aid Foundation and other children's causes.

Lots of popcorn was had. 

The VIP reception was great, we got to watch the Blue Jays play the Tampa Bay Rays and they even pulled out the win in the eighth inning. There was tons of food, lots of popcorn and just about anything you could ever want during a baseball game. 

We even got to meet Joe Carter! 

Unfortunately I was unable to attend the After party the next day at the Ritz in Toronto but I heard it was an absolute blast. I'll have to make sure that I clear my schedule for it during next years event.
